A Lot Has Happened In A Year

Well I am offically another year older and now only one year away from 30.  What a difference a year makes.  On my 28th birthday I was 34 weeks pregnant with Isabelle and so excited to meet our little girl.  Here I am on my 29th birthday and I have a perfect, beautiful 10 1/2 month old who I can't imagine my life without.  My life is much different then it was at 28, but much, much better.  And I know that every birthday from here on out will be that much more worth celebrating because of her.

I have always been big into other peoples birthdays.  I love hosting our annual BBQ with our families for Kevins birthday and I already have most of Isabelles 1st birthday decorations, invites, etc. purchased for her.  And even have her cake picked out I found online.  However on my birthday, the less fuss and less "celebrating" the better.  So needless to say, we had a very simple day around here yesterday and it was exactly what I wanted!  We went on a couple walks, went and bought some pumpkins (yeah!!!), watched the Hawkeyes win over Iowa State, and just hung out as a family.  A perfect, simple birthday in my opinion.

Simba looks a little grouchy here....

Kevin decorated the kitchen with streamers, balloons and a sign!

I don't think she likes wearing the hat

Hat gone....much better

Hope everyone had a great weekend!  And Happy Birthday today to my brother-in-law Andy!

  1. I love Isabelle's checkered dress :) Sounds like a perfect birthday: family time, a Hawkeye win, and pumpkin decorations! And don't birthdays give you a renewed appreciation for your mom after giving birth?! They do for me! Glad you had a great day!
