A Chilly Morning

We finally had some sunshine today but this morning was still chilly and windy!  I probably went a little overboard with the winter coat and hat on Isabelle, but I did not want the wind to hurt her little ears!   After Praise and Play she played outside until lunch time and did not seem to mind the wind at all!

She also really loves tails lately and will point them out on animals in her books or her stuffed animals.   Of course she had to check out Cy's little tail!

What a change from the morning to afternoon.  After Isabelle's nap is was sunny and warm out.  We had to make a trip to the mall this afternoon to get her new shoes so we didn't get to play outside much after her nap.  It is amazing how quickly she outgrows shoes!  Luckily we found a very cute pair and a new swimsuit for the summer!  Tomorrow we plan to spend all day outside with the sunny 70's we are suppose to have!

An Impressive Potty Chart!

I just wanted to post an update on Isabelle's potty chair progress!  She is doing amazing!!!!  I can't believe she is taking to it so well!  I still continue to set her on there throughout the day and explain to her that if she has to go to say "potty" or to go in there herself to let me know.  So far she has ran into the bathroom twice to sit down and I quickly took her diaper off and she immediately went!  We are so proud of her!  She will use her potty chair about 6-8 times a day and will usually go within about 5-10 minutes of sitting there.  As you can see from the pictures she likes to "play" while on there and will read books or put stickers all over the place. :)  Apparently this corner of the bathroom is a little toy area now. :)  Whatever works!

This is Isabelle right after breakfast.  Her hair was a sticky mess from blackberries and she still has some on her forehead!  I don't think she is too impressed with me taking pictures of her on the potty. :)

This is Isabelle's very impressive potty chart!  Every time she uses the potty she gets a sticker on that day.  As you can see the page is covered in stickers!  She already has four from today that she got before her nap!  Way to go Isabelle!

The long term goal is to hopefully have her completely out of diapers by the age of 2.  But I am definitely not going to force this.  When she is totally ready she will let us know. :)  But for now she is off to a great start and we could not be more proud!

Happy Easter!  What a wonderful day we had as a family!

We headed up to Ames for church this morning with my parents and sister's family.  Isabelle was actually baptized on Easter last year at their church so it was great to be back on Easter as well.

We then went back to my parents house for the morning.  They had an Easter egg hunt for the kids and Isabelle found lots and lots of eggs filled with goodies!  Isabelle also received an overdose of presents from the Easter Bunny that visited Grandma and Grandpa's complete with a stuffed bunny, lots and lots of books, Disney Croc's, chalk, puppets, little cars, and a big bubble blower machine, just to name a few.  She also received lots of Easter presents from Aunt Amy, Uncle Andy, Ava and Isaiah that she LOVES!  Isabelle thanks you all!!!  We ate lunch there and then headed back home during nap time.

Isabelle loved playing some beautiful Easter music on the piano! 

After a fun morning we headed home after lunch so Isabelle could get a good nap in the car.  She was still sleeping when we got home so we drove around some more until she woke up!

Once awake we played outside until dinner!  Isabelle is carrying her new bubble machine!

She also had more Easter eggs to find in the backyard from the bunny!  And she finally got her new sandbox!

The bunny put these little play bugs in her outside eggs!  She loved them!  They are now in her sandbox!

She was very happy about her new sandbox and played in it for a long, long time!

The little neighbor boy, Gavin, came over to play with Isabelle for a little while this afternoon.  They are only 10 days apart!  They had lots of fun in her sandbox and with the bubble machine!

Time for a car ride!

Last event before dinner was planting a little oak tree with daddy!  Isabelle will take good care of it and help it to grow very big!

Using her new watering can from Aunt Amy, Uncle Andy, Ava, and Isaiah.  It is so cute and came with gardening tools to match!
