One of Isabelle's Favorite Things....

One of Isabelle's favorite things this spring/summer has been the pink ice cream truck that drives around our town playing music and selling ice cream treats.  She loves listening for the truck....they play all kinds of cute kids music and slowly drive up and down all the streets.  They come by about once a week and it is one of the highlights of her week. I have been meaning to get pictures of it, and I finally did today!

Isabelle waiting for the truck.  She had made this little wooden ice cream truck yesterday with Kevin and wanted to show them!

Placing her order...a chocolate chip ice cream sandwich!  She has also tried the Dora and frog ice cream treats, and malt cup .:)

They were so impressed with her ice cream truck, they took a picture of it for their Facebook page!

Eating her yummy treat!

A few other cute pictures from today.....Isabelle dressing up as her favorite princess Belle!  She cannot wait to meet her again this week!!!!

Hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day weekend and staying cool with your own ice cream treats!

Happy Birthday Simba!!!

Today is Simba's 8th Birthday!  I cannot believe I have had him now for 7 years and 10 months :)  He has become such a part of our family and we cannot imagine our house with out "Brother Simba.".

Isabelle was beyond excited today that it was Simba's Birthday. She picked out two new toys for him the other day and was so excited to give them to him.  The first thing she wanted to do this morning was open his presents and make him wear a Happy Birthday hat.

After several attempts at trying to get Simba to sit still for 1 quick second with a hat on just to make Isabelle happy, he quickly decided he had enough and went to his shelf in the hall closet to attempt to hide from us!  So the hat sat next to him, which Isabelle ended up being okay with. :)

Opening his presents.  Three new mice and a butterfly. :)

She put his new toys on the shelf with him. :)

Happy Birthday Simba! We love you so much, and you really are the best, cutest, and biggest kitty in the world.  As Isabelle has been saying all day "Happy Birthday brother Simba. Brother Simba 8.  Brother Simba like all new presents . Brother Simba like Birthday hat."  She loves her kitty!

After Simba's gift opening, it was on to putting the Mickey Mouse up for our countdown!  Isabelle gets so excited to do this, and lately has been jumping up and down yelling "Me go to Disney World!!".   At this time next week we will be there!  We cannot wait!

We also have been doing lots and lots of playing outside.  All day.  Everyday.

The next door neighbors put this big owl up on their deck.  It rotates his head and everything, and looks completely real from our house.  I was certain it was real for about 45 minutes yesterday until I finally figured out he wasn't.  Isabelle LOVES owls, and to her he is real.  She loves waiving at him and saying that "Whoo Whoot watches me play".

Another of Isabelle's favorites lately?  Pasta salad.  The girl cannot get enough.  There have been a couple nights of tears if she finds out we aren't having pasta salad or don't have any in the house.  So I have learned to have it on stock at all times.  She likes to help rinse the noodles in cold water. :)

And of course pasta salad goes best with a Mickey Mouse sandwich.  :)

The next several days will be spent finishing packing and counting down the days, then hours till we leave!  We are all so much looking forward to a long, relaxing, and FUN 11 days in our favorite place in the world!

A Green Green Garden

Yesterday Isabelle put on her gardening gloves and got right to work helping me finish planting the garden!  Kevin did most of it this week, but Isabelle and I still had to plant the carrot and corn seeds.  She was such a big helper digging, putting seeds in the holes, and helping pat the dirt back down!  She is so excited about having a garden and helping take care of it. And I know she will be even more excited once all those tomatoes are ready to eat! She eat tomatoes almost everyday and LOVES them!

We planted sweet corn, carrots, red, yellow, and green peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, and jalapenos.  I may find some room to plant some green onion too, and next year we want to add potatoes and a space for pumpkins!

Thank you Kevin for all your work getting our garden ready! And thank you Isabelle for all your hard work planting and watering!

The Simple Things....

The simple things in life sometimes bring the biggest smiles.  Such as getting mail from Grandma and Grandpa V in the mail.  I cannot tell you how much she loves getting mail.  Luckily Grandma and Grandpa occasionally send her mail and also subscribed her to her own kid magazine.  No matter what it is, when I tell her the mailman brought her mail, she is all smiles.  Today I brought her mail up to her when she woke up from her nap.  She was so excited!

She got a card and some piggy bank money!

How can you not smile seeing her so happy over something so simple.  It just melts my heart.

And something else that made Isabelle smile....her new flip flops. (Which she will probably not wear).  But she saw them today at Target and said "Ava have flip flop, Me get flip flop. Thank you mommy new purple shoes" (This is before I even bought them.)  So she got her $2.50 pair of flip flops like cousin Ava. :)

Isabelle's 2nd Dentist Visit!!

This morning Isabelle had her 2nd dentist appointment!  She went once she turned 2 and now at 2 1/2.  She did SO good today and even let the dentist brush and count her teeth!    She really loved the fish tank in the waiting room and kept pointing out "Nemo, Nemo's daddy, and Dory". :)  I am so proud of how well she did! What a big girl!

She was also very happy about her "goodie" bag.  She got to pick out a toy, and they gave her a Dora toothbrush, floss, and toothpaste!  She even carried her bag into to grocery store afterwards :)  Isabelle also kept practicing opening her mouth wide throughout the morning as she is doing in this picture. :)

Great job today at the dentist Isabelle! Mommy and daddy are so proud!

Happy Mommy's Day (2 of 2)

Mother's Day afternoon was spent and Grandma and Grandpa Van Slyke's.  Isabelle was so excited the swimming pool and slip and slide were out!  And the "theme" was all Disney to countdown the 17 short days till our big trip!  Mickey hamburgers, Mickey cheese slices, Mickey cookies, and Mickey serving dishes!

Isabelle giving Grandma her hand print stepping stone.

Fun in the pool with cousins!

Showing Grandma how to drink from the "water fountain"
