Today is Simba's 8th Birthday! I cannot believe I have had him now for 7 years and 10 months :) He has become such a part of our family and we cannot imagine our house with out "Brother Simba.".
Isabelle was beyond excited today that it was Simba's Birthday. She picked out two new toys for him the other day and was so excited to give them to him. The first thing she wanted to do this morning was open his presents and make him wear a Happy Birthday hat.
After several attempts at trying to get Simba to sit still for 1 quick second with a hat on just to make Isabelle happy, he quickly decided he had enough and went to his shelf in the hall closet to attempt to hide from us! So the hat sat next to him, which Isabelle ended up being okay with. :)
Opening his presents. Three new mice and a butterfly. :)
She put his new toys on the shelf with him. :)
Happy Birthday Simba! We love you so much, and you really are the best, cutest, and biggest kitty in the world. As Isabelle has been saying all day "Happy Birthday brother Simba. Brother Simba 8. Brother Simba like all new presents . Brother Simba like Birthday hat." She loves her kitty!
After Simba's gift opening, it was on to putting the Mickey Mouse up for our countdown! Isabelle gets so excited to do this, and lately has been jumping up and down yelling "Me go to Disney World!!". At this time next week we will be there! We cannot wait!
We also have been doing lots and lots of playing outside. All day. Everyday.
The next door neighbors put this big owl up on their deck. It rotates his head and everything, and looks completely real from our house. I was certain it was real for about 45 minutes yesterday until I finally figured out he wasn't. Isabelle LOVES owls, and to her he is real. She loves waiving at him and saying that "Whoo Whoot watches me play".
Another of Isabelle's favorites lately? Pasta salad. The girl cannot get enough. There have been a couple nights of tears if she finds out we aren't having pasta salad or don't have any in the house. So I have learned to have it on stock at all times. She likes to help rinse the noodles in cold water. :)
The next several days will be spent finishing packing and counting down the days, then hours till we leave! We are all so much looking forward to a long, relaxing, and FUN 11 days in our favorite place in the world!
Isabelle, you take such good care of your kitty Simba. He knows you love him so much! See you tomorrow....we will bring his present then!
