Trick Or Treat

Last night we took Isabelle trick or treating around our neighborhood.  We are lucky we live in a neighborhood with so many young families.  There were tons of little trick or treaters out and about.  Isabelle was of course the cutest of all!  She did so good and loved walking around holding her pumpkin basket.  She was smiling and waving at everyone and had such a good time! My parents came down to hand out candy at our house while we were out. (Actually, I know they really came down just to see Isabelle in her pumpkin costume!)  We stayed out trick or treating for about 50 minutes and came home to one tired little girl.  She was asleep in bed shortly after 8:00 and slept for 12 hours.  We all had so much fun and took lots of pictures (and video)! Enjoy!

Getting ready to go! (Isabelle kept the pumpkin hat on the entire night!)

Craft Fair, Leafs, and a Birthday Present!

This morning after a later breakfast (Isabelle slept till almost 8:30!) we went to the Grimes United Methodist Church's Holiday Craft Fair.  We thought it would be fun to get us in the mood for Christmas and it was free!  Isabelle had a fun time looking at everything and we had to be very careful with her walking around so that she didn't knock anything off the displays!

Afterwards we came home and enjoyed some playtime outdoors.  Isabelle loves looking for leaves and when you ask her where a leaf is she will walk (actually she tries to run now) across the yard until she finds a leaf.  She then proudly picks it up and carries it around with her.  She loves leaves! She also was all ready to help daddy carve a pumpkin but after she was more interested in ripping the newspaper into pieces we thought it would be best if he carved it while she ate lunch. :)

Isabelle also got her first birthday present in the mail today! My good friend Missy (and her husband Michael and daughter Katelyn) sent Isabelle a birthday present! She loved opening it up and was very excited to see a new book "Perfect Piggies" and four Disney Princess books from her registry! She also got an adorable pair of leg warmers that will look so cute under a jean skirt!  Thanks Missy!

October 30th

October 30th will forever be engraved in Kevin and my minds as the day I was due with Isabelle.  For nine months we talked about October 30th, and everything counted down to that day.  We were so excited in the days leading up to the 30th, even though we knew the chances of Isabelle actually being born on her due date were slim.  I remember last October 30th, Kevin left for work and I immediately started decorating the entire house for Christmas.  I remember thinking after an hour into it that there was no way I could get any more swollen.  I was already huge, and extra swollen for standing for hours upon hours decorating.  I was bound and determined to get it all done, so that when she was born the house would be ready for Christmas.  (And a little part of me was hoping maybe all the movement and work from decorating would cause me to go into labor.....which of course it didn't).  This October 30th, I couldn't be more happy.  I have the most amazing little girl who lights up my world every minute, and who I love with all my heart and soul.
So this October 30th we will be taking our little pumpkin trick or treating (yes a post will come on that with lots of pictures).  And there is a very good chance that after Isabelle is in bed tonight that I will be decorating for Christmas once again.  After all, I normally do this on November 1st....two days earlier won't make a difference. :)

Cute as Can Be

The past two days we have had very strong, cold winds.  All day long.  Isabelle and I have spent the past two days cuddled up inside staying warm!  When we did venture out today to get the mail, I made sure I had her little ears all protected from the wind!  She looked so adorable in one of her new winter hats that I had to take some pictures!

Stay warm everyone!

Grimes Fall Festival

Time to celebrate fall! This afternoon we went to the Grimes Fall Festival.  Our town puts on a fall festival every year and we thought Isabelle would really enjoy it! It is completely geared towards families, complete with pumpkin painting, pony rides, face painting, sack races, clowns, popcorn, cider and tons of other games and prizes.

Isabelle got to pick a pumpkin from the water and she won a prize!

Carrying her prize around the entire time! A little, pink, squishy ball.

She got to pet the pony!

Mommy and Isabelle waiting in line for.....

A pony ride!

We then painted (drew on) a pumpkin

The finished product! Mickey/Minnie ears!

The pumpkin now sits on our porch!

We all had a great time at the fall festival and will definitely be back next year!
