Daddy Day

If you notice that this post looks different that normal, that's because I (Kevin) am behind the wheel. This week, both of my girls have been sick with the flu. First, Isabelle, and now Julie. I am thankful that I am off of work all week and able to take care of them.

Isabelle first showed signs on Tuesday night, and we took her to the doctor yesterday morning and ever since that time, she has definitely gotten better but she still doesn't quite have the energy that she normally does. Poor girl. I LOVE the time that I have been able to spend with her today.

Julie came down with it last night and she is getting her rest today. I hope that she has the quick turnaround time that we saw with Isabelle...I know that Isabelle does too :) She definitely misses her mommy.

Julie - I truly respect the hard work you do for our family. Being a full time mom is truly a full time job, and then some. I admire how great of a mom you are to Isabelle...its easy to see how much she misses being around you today, saying lots of "mom mom mom mom" & "my mom my mom" :) I love you and Isabelle so much :)

Christmas Celebration Number 4

Monday we headed back up to Ames for a fourth Christmas celebration.  My Uncle Dave came up from Cedar Rapids so we went up to see him on Monday after Isabelle's nap.  She had lots of fun and enjoyed playing with her cousins Ava and Isaiah again.

Isabelle watching Mickey Mouse clubhouse on the way up.  While watching this she pointed to a duck and said very, very clearly....."Duck".  So cute!

Ava showing Isabelle a toy they brought up for Isabelle to have.

During a yummy dinner.  Isabelle ate tons!

We had a great time in Ames again and it was great for Isabelle to see her Great Uncle Dave again.  We have one more Christmas celebration on Saturday and that will conclude the festivities!

Christmas Day - Part 2

As the previous post said, the Christmas Day festivities continued into the afternoon with a trip to each grandparents house.  First stop was in Ankeny to visit grandma and grandpa Larsen and Uncle Dan.

On our way.....

  Checking out the tree upstairs

Checking out the tree downstairs.....and time to open presents!

Looking at all Uncle Dan's "hawkeye's"......she loves pointing to them!

With her new Princess Ariel trike! She will love this once it's spring!

And a basketball hoop....all set for outdoor fun!  (Actually we now have this set up in the basement and she will carry the ball over on her own, step on her tippy toes and make a basket!)

After a couple hours, it was time for Isabelle's afternoon nap.  She took a shorter nap on the way to Ames.  There we had Christmas with grandma and grandpa Van Slyke, Aunt Amy, Uncle Andy, Ava, and Isaiah.

So much to open!

Isabelle and Ava got the Disney World Cinderella castle playset....shipped straight from Disney World!  Isaiah received the trainset.....they will have so much fun with these!

After a very busy Christmas Day, Isabelle fell right asleep after her bath at home.

We had a wonderful Christmas Day celebrating with our families.  Isabelle had a lot of fun today breaking in all her new toys, it was so much fun to see her playing with everything!  Merry Christmas!
