If you have ever been to Walt Disney World, then you will know what I am talking about when I say they have the best Mickey Mouse rice krispie treats! They are in the shape of Mickey, come on a stick, and you can get them with the ears dipped in chocolate. Look in any resort, store, or gift shop and you are likely to find these for sale. I should know...they are one of my favorite snacks to eat when down there! Unbelievably good! Today Isabelle and I decided to try to recreate these delicious Disney World treats!
Here is how it went.....
First some shopping for the items we did not have at home....rice krispies, marshmallows, and chocolate chips!
Next, the butter and marshmallows went into the pan with the help of Isabelle. (Okay lots of marshmallows went on the floor but we did still have plenty of good ones left!)
While mommy melted the marshmallows, butter and stirred in vanilla and rice krispies....Isabelle kept her eye on the bowl of chocolate chips that were waiting to be melted.
And she snuck a few samples too!
Next we used our Mickey Mouse hamburger press to form the shape! Isabelle was a big help patting it all down nice and tight!
Until she decided it would be more fun to taste it!
We then put melted chocolate on the ears and them put in the fridge to set for about an hour.
YUMMY!!!!!
Since Kevin works late hours he doesn't take his lunch break till 2:00 or later.....well Isabelle decided to take no nap today so Kevin came home to see her since she would be awake over his lunch time. Isabelle was happy to show daddy the treats we made today! (We put them each in plastic bags to keep them fresh)
Later during a wagon ride Isabelle sampled her delicious treat! Actually she only had a couple bites, I think she ate too much while we were making them!
And there you have it! Our version of a Walt Disney World favorite!
how cute is that? I am going to make them for my Disney Party at school. I was trying to think of a disney treat to make the kids....and that is perfect! They look so yummy. what a cute project with Isabelle. :)
ReplyDeleteYUM!! Those look great :) What a good helper Isabelle is! I love the pic with her and the marshmallows where she has one shoe on and one shoe off... reminds me of a little girl in our house!
