Our little Isabelle is growing up so fast and becoming so smart! Lately she has seemed to associate more and more objects with words. For example she has always known that when we say Mommy or Daddy that is us. But lately she has seemed to master other words as well.
- Cow: When reading a book to her with several animals on a page, I asked her where the cow was and she pointed to it!
- Pig: Exact same as the cow :)
- Duck or Yellow Duck: Today while we were playing in a sea of toys in the living room, I asked her where the yellow duck was. She has a little farm set and one of the animals is a yellow duck. She looked around the room at all her toys and when she saw the duck she crawled right over and picked it up and then looked at me smiling!
- Elly: This is her pink elephant blankie, and she did the exact same thing as with a duck :)
- Simba or Brother: When we say Simba or brother she will look around until she seems him and then smile and start "talking" to him. (All safely from our arms of course)
- Flag: We have had a flag flying in front of our house pretty much all summer (White Sox, American, and now Iowa Hawkeyes). When asked where the flag is, Isabelle will always look right at the flag and smile.
- Puppy: All the houses around us have dogs that are always outside playing. One in particular next to us has an invisible fence so the puppy gets very close to our front yard. When I ask her where the puppy is she will look for him, find him, and then usually start crawling towards him (which is quickly intercepted)
- Pooh Bear, Simba, Minnie, Elmo: These are all her favorite stuffed animals (she has the baby Simba from Lion King). I think she's starting to associate the names of these with each one. Or she could just get that excited to see them as they are always greeted with a big hug from her. (Especially Minnie, Pooh, and Simba).
- Kiss: When I ask her to give me a kiss, she will most of the time respond with a big open mouthed kiss somewhere on my face. Those are the best kind.
It seems like our little munchkin is growing up right before our eyes. I treasure each and every moment I have with her and we can't wait to watch her learn even more.
And here are some pictures of her doing her favorite things. Swinging, playing, and on her wagon ride.
