Today started a three day celebration in our city of Grimes. It is Funtastic Days!!! (Well this year it is called Governor's Days....but every other year it's Funtastic Days!). The weekend consists of parades, ice cream socials, food vendors, a carnival with lots and lots of games and rides, concerts, fireworks, car shows, etc. In other words the whole town gets together to celebrate and it is tons of fun! This evening the event was kicked off by the kiddie parade! Lots of little kids dressed up in costume, decorated their wagons and bikes and marched through Main Street Grimes. We didn't put Isabelle in costume but she did decorate her wagon with Mickey's that we cut out and she taped them all over her wagon. She carried some Disney things in her wagon as well and wore one of her Disney World shirts also!

Before the kiddie parade this evening, Grandpa and Grandma V took Isabelle (and Kevin and I) to the mall so she could pick out some clothes for her monkey at Build-A-Bear. Isabelle picked out some adorable pajamas for it, along with matching slippers, a brush, mirror, an actual working blow dryer, and a stroller! Quite the little shopper! And she pushed the monkey around the mall afterwards wearing its new slippers!

We then went to line up for the parade!
Isabelle even had four bags of candy to throw out to the people watching! Well mommy threw three bags out for her.....she did not want to part with it. :)
The Isiserettes performed and Isabelle loved watching them despite the extremely loud drums
Grandpa and Grandma Larsen were there to cheer her on!
One of the city workers came up to us afterwards and told us that Isabelle got 3rd place!! We didn't even realize they were being judged! She received a gift certificate to the local pizza place! And of course in our eyes she got 1st place!
What a fun day and we were so happy that the rain decided to give us a break right during her parade! We are looking forward to many more Funstastic Days activities this weekend! Great job today Isabelle! Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you.....our little parade princess!
