3 Weeks!!!

3 weeks!!! Our sweet little Avrey is 3 weeks!! She continues to be the best baby ever.  She loves sleeping, eating, being cuddled, held, and going on walks.  She likes to watch Isabelle (when she is awake that is) and is starting to get better at holding her head up and grasping onto objects.

She had a doctor appointment yesterday and did very well during it!  She has grown 1.5 inches since birth and is now 22.5 inches putting her in the 97% for height. She now weighs 9 pds 6 oz which puts her in the 74% for weight.

Back home fast asleep!

Unfortunately we have been hit with a nasty virus at our house.  Isabelle has been sick for a week and a half.  It started with a cold/cough but kept getting worse.  This past weekend she threw up also and got a fever of 103.  I took her to an urgent care clinic on Sunday and she has an ear infection also on top of it all.  She is luckily on medicine and her fever is down...still in the upper 99's, but she seems to be feeling a little better, but is still exhausted. 

As much as we washed our hands, sanitized everything, and tried to keep Avrey and Isabelle separate Avrey now has the cold and cough.  I was going to take her in yesterday anyways but she had her well check up so we were fortunate they got to check her over then.  She does have some kind of virus with a runny nose, congested cough, and low fever in the mid 99's.  Unfortunately there is nothing they can do for her at this point.  Sadly, with a simple cold in a newborn it can quickly turn into pneumonia or whooping cough so they want us to keep a very close eye on her for now.  They gave us a list of things to watch our for in the mean time and if any develop we go straight back in.  The doctor did tell us to "quarantine" her for now so she doesn't get any other sort of germ that could make it worse since its so dangerous for newborns to be sick.  We hope this just stays a simple cough/cold and nothing more comes of it! It's so sad to see our little tiny baby sick!!

Happy 3 weeks Avrey Ann! You make my heart smile everyday and I cannot imagine our family without you in it.  You are a perfect fit to our family and we love you more then we ever dreamed was possible!
