Before I start typing away....I must send an enormous thank you to my wonderful friend Jill who has let me borrow one of her cameras while ours is being fixed. We shipped ours off today to the Kodak repair center and they are suppose to fix (or replace it) for free and send it back. But being without a camera for that amount of time would have been unbearable. :) So thank you Jill!!!!
This post is mainly going to be random ramblings by me on Isabelle. :) There are so many things she is doing lately that I never want to forget, so what better way to remember then to write them down. Also I must say the two mini balloons in the picture almost got thrown out. While at the store this morning Isabelle saw lots of big balloons and was shaking she was so scared. She then saw these little ones so I bought two thinking maybe they would help her get over her fear of balloons. I don't think she really realized they were mini balloons cause as soon as I said "Look at your little balloons" they quickly got thrown on the floor of the car on the way home with lots of tears. Once home I told her they would just be outdoor toys for her to play with and ever since she seems to love them. :) She carried them everywhere with her!
Isabelle's talking has really taken off this past week. Previously she was saying lots of random words now and then but now she is talking non stop! Some of her newest words include: bubble, square, brother, crocodile (more like croc) and the cutest...caterpillar (sounded out like Cat-A-Pi). We also hung up daddy's White Sox flag yesterday and I was telling her she would have to show daddy when he came home. She said "Flag...Daddy Look!" While looking around for him! It was so adorable and sounded just like "Tag...Daddy ook!"
Isabelle is now in pull ups during the days and diapers only during her nap and bedtime. She is using her potty about 75% of the time and seemed really interested when I explained the concept of undies to her. So we got her Dora pull ups and she loves them! She can pull them off by herself and will try to pull them up but doesn't quite get them all the way up. :) I think I will try full out potty training in a couple months. :)
Isabelle is now enrolled in the summer reading program at the library. We have to read at least 5 books to her a week (when we honestly read 15-20 a day), turn in a weekly sheet and she gets "Book Bucks". At the end of the summer she can cash in her book bucks for prizes. :) There is also a Friday morning weekly program we can attend that covers the theme "One World, Many Stories". There will be live music from Mexico and Africa for example and even the Blank Park Zoo will be running a session and bringing in live animals for the kids to pet! Isabelle LOVES books so we couldn't pass the reading program up!
Whenever Kevin or I are in the kitchen she will literally hang on to our legs pretty much the whole time while smiling and laughing. She usually comes up from behind us, wraps her little arms around our legs and hugs us very tight. She won't let go and usually just walks right behind us stepping on our heals as we make our way around the kitchen. :) It is so cute to see her little face light up every time she does this.
Isabelle has started moving beyond just "dada and mama" when talking to Kevin and I and will sometimes say "mom, mommy, dad, or daddy" instead. It melts my heart! Yesterday when we came inside from playing she said "Daaaaad" like she was looking for him.....sadly daddy was at work. And later that day she called out for "Daddy". :) She sure loves him. :)
The past two weeks Isabelle has finally started drinking a little bit of milk. She stopped all formula at 9 months, refused milk when we tried it a 12 months so has not had anything of the sort since. I have tried off and on all the time with different flavors of milk and she hated it. For some reason when I tried again a couple weeks ago she started drinking it. Granted it is loaded with chocolate syrup but I figure a little milk with chocolate is better then none at all. She will still only drink about 3/4 sippy cup a day of it, but that is a HUGE progress for us!
That is about all of my random ramblings :) We are looking forward to a fun afternoon outside in the sunshine!
