Birds, Lizards, and Alligators, Oh My!

This morning to wrap up the end of the summer reading program at the library, they had a show and tell day with Blank Park Zoo.  Isabelle and I got there early enough so she could have a front row seat!  She was very interested in the animals but did not want anything to do with touching them.  I don't blame her since I thought they were going to be cute, furry, little animals.  Instead the zoo brought a bird, a lizard, a hissing cockroach, a ferret, and an alligator!

The parrot that lives in Africa.  He is 15 years old and lives to be about 50!

I can't remember what this actually was, a mix between a snake and a lizard.

The hissing cockroach! Yuck!

Isabelle quickly backing away when they asked if she wanted to touch it.

The ferret.

And a "baby" alligator.  Actually he is 6 years old but will grow to be about 15 feet!

Back at home with her favorite animal...brother Simba!

And these are two pictures from yesterday.  Adeline is going to start coming to the Praise and Play class we go to on Thursday mornings.  Isabelle was so happy to have Adeline and Jill there with her!

We are getting ready for a busy, but fun, weekend ahead!  Happy Friday!

Isabelle and Adeline

This morning Isabelle went over to her friend Adeline's house.  They had a great time together as always!  Isabelle will say "Jill" and "Adeline" now too, so you know she loves them! :)

Playing with the dollhouse she gave Adeline for her birthday. :)

Isabelle loves Chester!

Playing outside before it got too hot!

Adeline giving Isabelle a hug!

Thanks for a fun morning Jill and Adeline (and Chester!) :)  We will see you guys soon!

Come On Over to Adventureland

Come on over to Adventureland you're gonna have a fun filled day!  As anyone from central Iowa knows, that is the theme song for Iowa's amusement park Adventureland.  It is now actually an amusement park and a water park connected and still just as much fun.  Today my parents took us and my sisters family there and we had a great day! We started the morning out at the water park "Adventureland Bay", ate lunch, then I took Isabelle back to the car so she could nap in the cool air conditioner. :)  After that we spent the afternoon at Adventureland riding rides, ate dinner (and lots of ice cream) and rode more rides.  We got there at about 10:00 am and didn't leave until 6:30 pm!   Kevin went into work early today and left by 10:00 so spent the day with us too!  Isabelle had tons of fun but was exhausted from all the excitement!  As expected lots of pictures were taken!

Waiting to get into the park

Isabelle's least favorite part of the day.....putting sunscreen on.  And due to the heat we put it on three different times.

My dad is on the bottom left, waiting for the bucket to drench him in water.

Playing in the splash pool with grandma.

Time for a snack.

We also went on the lazy river, down several slides, and played in the pool.  After a busy morning, Isabelle was tired and hot, so she quickly fell asleep in the car with the A/C blasting!  Mommy enjoyed the break too!

All refreshed and ready to go for the afternoon!  First stop....the train ride!

Then on to one of her favorites, the carrousel with daddy.

Enjoying a cherry Icee.

Then onto the teacups with mommy.  We got a teacup that would not stop spinning like crazy!  I was worried that Isabelle was going to get sick or hate it, but she loved it!

She loved watching all the geese!

We then rode the flying dragons!

And the Chuck Wagon.

When we bumped into Ava and Isaiah again, they had fallen asleep in their wagon.  They didn't look very comfortable but apparently were!

Going on the Chuck Wagon again with Aunt Amy, Ava, and Isaiah.

Then over to the boat rides!

(Isabelle won these two stuffed animal ducks playing a game)

The boats....notice Isabelle and Ava holding hands?  Isabelle loves holding her cousin's hands!

The Ladybugs!

On our way to dinner in the park in the cool indoors!

After dinner and way too much ice cream for Isabelle she rode the carousel again.

We then went on the Underground with Grandma and Ava.  Isabelle was so brave! This is a train ride in the dark!

On our way back to the car.  She was so tired, but stayed awake the whole way home, got her bath and quickly went to sleep after some stories.

Thanks mom and dad for a fun day!  We appreciate it and we know Isabelle had lots of fun!
