We had a great Saturday celebrating our moms and Sunday I had a great time with my two favorite girls....Isabelle and Avrey.
Saturday my parents, Kevin's parents, and Kevin's grandma came over to our house for lunch. It was great to have everyone all together. Avrey slept most of the time but did wake up near the end. :) Isabelle had lots of fun playing with everyone as usual. Unfortunately my camera disappeared during the day and it was not found until Kevin's family had left (buried deep in the couch cushions). We did manage to get two pictures from that day....Grandma and Grandma with Avrey.
Sunday we had a great day as a family of 4 (5 with Simba!). Isabelle was so excited when she woke up to give me some gifts. I got a canvas picture of my two girls and a sweatshirt I had my eye on from Disney World. It doesn't get much better then that. :)
Isabelle had her last day of Sunday School that morning and her class went up front in church and sang Jesus Loves Me. I was so proud of her for going up there. She was adorable. All smiles and waving the whole time at me. She got an award ribbon too and was so proud of herself. :) Sadly I forgot to take my camera to church...but I did get some pictures and video on my phone that I have.
The rest of the day was spent doing a little shopping at my favorite..Target...and playing outside. Avrey and I went on a few walks while Isabelle insisted on getting into her swimsuit and filling up the new pool despite the 60 degree temperatures. :) At least the pool water will be all ready for tomorrow when it is suppose to be 93!
My little peanut and I.
I had a great Mother's Day and am so thankful for my mom and the friendship we have and so thankful God gave me Isabelle and Avrey as daughters. Being their mommy is the best gift I have ever been given and my love for them grows more and more with each moment.
I know I have posted this on here before....but I love this poem about being a Mom and there isn't a more fitting time to post it again then on Mother's Day.
Before I was a Mom, I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry about whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom, I had never been puked on. Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom, I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests. Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom, I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put him down..
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom, I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know the bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a Mom, I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every ten minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never know the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment, or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.
Thank YOU for the wonderful day that we had together. I am more than lucky to have you as a daughter and am thrilled every time I get to see those little girls. They are a reflection of you and I am so proud. Love you all!
