Saturday was one of those days that started out being one of the worst days ever and ended up being one of the best. To spare everyone the many details, I will just say that I ended up at Mercy Hospital ER Saturday morning due to a lot of sudden bleeding. They took me to the maternity center at Mercy West, and later had me go to Mercy downtown since I was "high risk". Fearing the worst, there were lots of prayers made. Those prayers were heard. From what the nurse and ultrasound technician told us, the baby is perfectly fine...a healthy 150-162 heartbeat and it was seen moving and kicking all over the ultrasound. They believe the reason for the bleeding is that I have a very low laying placenta which can cause this sudden bleeding. Since it has shifted a little upward (.8mm to be exact), the believe this is over with and should not happen again. We were so relieved that the baby is still perfectly healthy and not effected by this in any way. I was told to pretty much lay in bed, besides getting up when I have to, for the rest of the weekend until I can meet with my OB doctor Monday, but as far as everyone at the hospital was concerned, we are pretty much in the clear now, it was just a horribly scary day. I am so thankful to my mom for coming down and taking me to the hospital early Saturday morning so Kevin could stay with Isabelle. My sister then came down and watched Isabelle with Ava and Isaiah while Kevin met me at the hospital too. I love having family close by that I can always count on.
Now on to the exciting news. During the ultrasound we were able to find out the gender of our little baby!!!!! And.....................
It's
A
GIRL!!!!!
We could not be more happy to add another little girl to our family. I wanted 2 girls ever since Isabelle was born and am so excited to have her grow up with a sister that I hope she is as close to as I am to mine. Kevin is beyond happy as well and we all know Isabelle wanted a sister from the moment she found out. :) Guess I should have listened to her when she told me multiple times a day it was a girl :)
We will update more after the visit with the doctor tomorrow and pray that everything is still going great with our little girl!
