This afternoon Isabelle had her 12 month doctor appointment. She was a trooper through it all and checked out with a clean bill of health! Poor Isabelle had to get 4 vaccines and a finger prick! They drew her blood for a routine check and the results came back perfect! Yeah for Isabelle! A whole year without so much as a sniffle or a cough. She is so healthy! She weighed in at 20 pounds 3 oz which puts her in the 35% for weight and she is 30.5 inches long which is the 89%! The doctor did not seem as concerned as I probably have been regarding her refusal to drink whole milk. She gave up her formula at 9 months and about a month ago we introduced whole milk. That has not gone over well with her. She absolutely refuses to drink it. We try it at every meal and she will sit there thirsty rather then drink it. She does drink so much water during the day and one sippy cup of carrot/apple juice, but no milk. Since she gets her calcium from all the cheese, yogurt, and other foods we give her we don't need to worry about the milk as much but still offer it everyday. We can however start adding a little chocolate or strawberry to it and hopefully she will start drinking it that way. So looks like tomorrow I will head to the store and get some yummy flavors to add!
