Day Two of School

Wednesday was Isabelle's second day of preschool.  She was so excited to have her and Avrey wear matching outfits that day! They just look adorable! :)

I am happy to say that dropping her off at school went better then the first day.  There were still some tears, but not near as bad as the first day and not as many.  She kept saying "I will miss you Mommy", which broke my heart. But she was brave and went off to play with an Elmo house and had fun before I left.  When I came to pick her up (nice and early) I saw her playing outside with the other girls running around and having so much fun.  It just made me cry, there my little girl was, being such a big girl at school and playing with new friends.  How did she get so big?!  After preschool was over she ran over to me and told me all the things she did....painting, playing in the kitchen, playing with babies, playing cars with a friend, music time, being the mat helper again, coloring a picture of our house, having graham crackers and applesauce for snack, playing outside, story time, she talked about school a lot.  It makes me so happy to hear how much fun she has and how much she enjoys it.  Now maybe one of these days it will get easier on me having her out of the house during school, I do not like it!

Here are a few pictures from before Isabelle went to school!

First Day of Preschool

Monday was Isabelle's first ever day of school! She started the 4 year old preschool at Small Miracles Preschool.  She was very excited and also very nervous about going.  Not only was it the first time she was in school, but also the first time she has had anybody else taking care of her. She never went to daycare, never had a baby sitter, never even went in the nursery at church.  She did do Sunday School but we waited right outside of her room for the 45 minutes she was in class. :)  She has always had Kevin and I to be with her for everything.  My parents and my sister have watched her from time to time while I had doctor appointments but that was the extend of it.  And I wouldn't have it any other way.  I love that I have been there for every single moment in her life and there for her each and every time she needed something.  So her first day of school was a HUGE day for us in more ways then one.

Isabelle all ready to go to school in the morning.  She wanted a little photo session before we left and was having fun posing for pictures. :)

Kevin took the day off of work to be there for Isabelle's big day!  Here she is walking into preschool!

The are asked to trace over their name with marker when they arrive so they can learn how to write their name. :) She did a great job!

Her little backpack hook. :)

After we hung her backpack up, washed her hands, and walked her to class, there were some big time tears.  She kept saying she didn't know anybody and was crying so hard.  She finally asked for her Simba and Elly, which we had packed in her backpack. :)  The teacher gave those to her and I told her I loved her and would be back after school was over.  Then I left.  And I cried.  It was horrible leaving my little girl there in tears.  But I stayed in front around the corner where she couldn't see me since I knew I would never actually leave the building with her crying.  And what do you know...she stopped immediately.  She got a drink of water with her teacher Miss Amy, and went to play.
We picked her up from preschool at 11:30 and the teachers said she never cried again and did great.  She was the "mat helper" for the day, painted, sang songs, read books, had learning centers and free play, had snack, did crafts, and many other things that I am sure I don't even know all about!  Isabelle said "I was a little scared mommy, but I liked preschool and had fun".  She says she is very excited to go back and liked her teachers and the other girls in her class. We are so proud of her for being so brave while deep down she was scared.  We love her to pieces.  It's so hard to believe she is now in school.  I know she will learn so much and thrive socially from being in school with other kids three days a week.  It will just take some getting use to on my part!!!
Congratulations Isabelle on your first day of preschool.  You did amazing and we are so happy for you!

Blessing of the Backpacks

Sunday at church was the "Blessing of the Backpack."  All the kids brought their backpacks to church and during the childrens time at church they did a special blessing to each individual child and their backpack.  They also each received a special cross to hang on their backpack to remember that God loves them and they are never alone.  Isabelle was very excited for the special day at church!

I love how big her backpack looks on our little girl.  She is too cute for words.

Isabelle had her first day of school today...more to come on that in another post!

Simple Days with My Girls

I love my simple, carefree, do whatever we decide to do at the moment, days with my two little girls.  There is not much better then being able to do what we want whenever we want.  Even when its just the simple things.

Such as cuddles and smiles in the morning, before going for a walk/bike ride.

A lunch at our local pizza buffet when we are in need of a trip to the store!

Following by playing at a park at the sports complex.

The evening consisted of playing outside.  Avrey slept in her swing while Isabelle played and even swam!

Big sister pushing little sister in the swing.  So so sweet.

Somebody is sleeping!

Raking the yard!

Days like this are one reason I am so glad Isabelle is in morning preschool instead of afternoon.  It is only three days a week and she is done at 11:30 so we will have the rest of our days to do whatever we want!

(In other Avrey news...she is now on the go! She will now roll completely over! I left her on the floor while I went to get her diaper yesterday, came back, and she was about 6 feet away from where she had been, and smiling and rolling all over! She is growing up way to fast!)

Isabelle's First Back to School Night

Isabelle starts preschool on Monday.  Seriously!!?? Where have the days/weeks/months/years gone with my first little girl.  She was orginally going to be in the 3 year old class, but the class was incredibly large so we decided to move her up the the 4 year old class, knowing she does much better socially in a smaller group.  It worked out perfect as there are only 6 kids in her 4 year old class...and they are all girls! She is very excited to start, a little nervous about being away from Mommy and Daddy, and very happy about the idea of making new friends, doing crafts, going on field trips, the two classroom pet guinea pigs, having parties, and learning.  I just hope we can get through the first week or two with minimal tears (on both our parts!).

Anyways...here a few pictures of Isabelle before back to school night last night.  She just looks like such a big girl!

She insisted I wear a headband with her and that we be the "Headband Girls". So to make her happy, I wore her headband to back to school night. :)

Snuggles with Avrey before going!

We are so proud of you Isabelle and can't wait for your fun first year of school!
