What to do when you are recovering from the flu.....

I am happy to report that Isabelle seems to be 100% better!  (Besides still being a little on the tired side).  She never threw up again after Sunday morning.  To make sure she stayed healthy we kept her home all day Monday and Tuesday as well.  So what does a little girl recovering from the flu do when stuck at home for 4 straight days?  Play.  Play.  Play.

Monday we made a "Valentine chain with pink, red ,white, and purple paper for her room.  She also decorated lots of cut out hearts with stickers, markers, and glitter glue, and wanted them taped all over her wall. :)

Kevin's work was closed Monday so Isabelle enjoyed lots of extra daddy time.  She had fun dressing up as her favorite Disney princess, Belle.

And Snow White!

Today she played all morning in the living room with pretty much everything. :)
She played piano and put all her lip glosses on :)

She played with her castle.

And did her favorite....puzzles.

We got our first measurable snow overnight and today and Isabelle thought it was fun to draw on the frost on the door with her finger. :)

Then realized it is more fun to draw with her window markers on the back door.

Back to the living room to play with everything else. :)

After her nap we played, played, and played some more.

She wanted to bring all her Mickey's and Minnie's downstairs.

She played with her dollhouse.....

And colored and did more stickers.

Then brought her Mickey's and Minnie's in her tent to read her Fancy Nancy books. :)

What a busy couple days Isabelle has had "resting".  We are so thankful she seems to be back to herself and over this sickness!  We love you Isabelle!

The Past Three Days

The past three days have been spent taking care of our very sick little girl. :(  Poor Isabelle came down with a terrible bug of some sort Friday morning.  Isabelle and I went up to visit my dad (who is now home from the hospital) and my mom on Friday morning . She was her normal, happy, running around, smiling self.  Then out of the blue around 11:30 she threw up.  And I mean threw up a TON!  She had not ate anything even since breakfast.  Needless to say I quickly got her in the car to head home.  Where she threw up again.  Then once back home it continued on and off until 11pm Friday night.  We were an hour away from taking her to the ER when it stopped.....thank goodness.  Kevin and I spent literally the entire night and morning giving her small doses of pedialyte every 20 minutes.

Saturday she woke up and appeared to be somewhat better.  She had a little more energy and spent the whole day at home recovering.  She had more pedialyte, a little water, a half a banana, some applesauce, and a couple of bites of crackers all day.  We thought she was on the mend. She fell asleep for the night at 6:45.  Around 3:45am she woke up throwing up all over her bed.  She threw up two more times in addition to that this morning.  I made another call to the doctor who instructed me to start all over with the small doses of pedialyte and if she went 6-8 hours with no throwing up to start the bland foods again.  Otherwise we were told to take her to the emergency room.

Thankfully she has not thrown up since 6:15 am so around noon she ate an entire piece of toast and has been sipping more pedialyte all day.  She took a short 45 minute nap in her bed, then went right downstairs and is currently napping again on the couch.  We pray that she is finally getting over whatever is causing this.  It is so sad to see her so weak and fatigued.  We love her more then anything.  Please say a prayer that she is finally on the path to getting back to herself and done with whatever it was that made her so sick.

Isabelle Friday morning playing and having fun at my parents before it all started.....

We have been encouraging her to rest and lay down so today she wanted to take all her stuffed animals from the basement up to her bed today and watch a movie on the portable DVD player.

She got a quick little burst of energy and decided to pull every single book off her bookshelf.  Of course she helped put them all back.  Even sick, she still likes to pick up!

During nap time.  Unfortunately I have washed and changed her bedding numerous times so until she is over this she is sleeping on an old sheet and towels. :(

Simba has been logging lots of sleeping hours too these past few days! (He sleeps for 6-7 hour stretches in our towel closet)

Sleeping on the couch in the basement.

We love you so much Isabelle Ann.  If mommy and daddy could take your sickness from you and have it ourselves we would in a heartbeat.  We pray you are all healthy and back to yourself soon.

64 degrees in January!?!

How did Isabelle spend the beautiful 64 degree, sunny day we had today?  After her Praise and Play class, and a visit to the library she was outdoors!

Riding her trike!

Going up the ladder and down the slide over and over.

Swinging and smiling!

Going on a walk with mommy.

Then it was lunch and nap time.  After her nap back outside we went!

Simba even joined in on the fun for a little while!

And out came the toys!

She even got to play in her sandbox!

And do a little golfing!

What a wonderful "spring" day in January!

**And on a side note.....my dad had hip replacement surgery today and will be in the hospital till Sunday.  The recovery will take quite a while once he is out so any prayers and good wishes would be appreciated for him.  I was going to take Isabelle to visit tomorrow in the hospital but unfortunately we have to stay away due to her runny nose and his doctors orders that no viruses/bacteria are exposed to him.  We love you dad and grandpa and are thinking of you!**

New Years Playtime with Grandma and Grandpa

We spent the first day of 2012 doing lots of playing at home.  It was an extra special day since Grandma and Grandpa came down to play with Isabelle after her nap.  She had lots of fun showing them all her new Christmas toys, playing in her new tent they gave her, and doing stickers.  We ordered Applebees take out for dinner and Isabelle wanted Grandma to give her a bath again.  This is becoming her routine with Grandma whenever they are here....it's so cute. :)

Grandma and Isabelle in her Princess tent.

Working on stickers and coloring!

Happy New Year!  We wish everyone all the best health and happiness in 2012!
