Loving the Fall....But Prepared For Winter!

Isabelle has sure been enjoying this perfect fall weather we have been having.  Upper 60's is the best.  Its crisp, cool, but still warm with the sun shining.  We are making sure to get all the outdoors time in that we can before winter sets in.  And speaking of winter....Isabelle is all prepared for the snow!  My mom was in Johnston today for a school conference and after lunch, met Isabelle and I at babyGap.  She bought Isabelle her new adorable winter coat, hat, mittens, the cutest robeez furry boots and a sweater.....that Isabelle all picked out! :).  Thank you!! We tried the coat on at home and she looks like a little eskimo in it...so cute!  We are not wishing winter weather to be here yet, but at least Isabelle is ready for fun in the snow!
Here are some pictures of her today enjoying the perfect fall weather!

And another cute one just for fun in her booster seat

Stayed tuned for recent achievements from Isabelle to be posted in the next couple days!

11 Months!!!!

Isabelle is 11 months old today! It is so hard to believe that next month she will offically be a toddler.  She has truly grown up right before our eyes.  Everyday she brings us laughs, smiles, kisses, cuddles, new adventures, new achievements, and lots and lots of love.  We could not be more proud parents of our little girl.  Happy 11 months munchkin!

What is Isabelle up to these days?

Kisses:  She LOVES giving mommy and daddy kisses.  Big, wet kisses.  She also loves giving kisses to her stuffed animals (mainly pooh bear, minnie mouse, simba, elmo, and thumper) and different animals in her books.  Her kisses will never get old.

Talking:  She continues to say mom, mama, and the occasional mommy all the time.  She also is continuing to "talk" more and more and seems to talk the most when she gets really excited.

Standing, Walking, Cruising:  Isabelle loves walking and cruising on the furniture.  She really loves walking along side of us holding on to us with one hand.  She continues to take a couple steps on her own not holding on to anything.  She has taken four steps all by herself in the middle of the room!  As I have said several times, she is so determined to walk! It is so adorable.

Eating:  Isabelle still enjoys eating, and eats three meals and three snacks a day.  Her favorite foods include strawberries, bananas, raspberries, blackberries, pears, peaches (yes she LOVES fruit), blueberry waffles, french toast, string cheese, whole wheat bread with jam, shells and cheese, whole wheat noodles with marinara sauce, muffins, chicken and turkey deli meats, meatballs with marinara or pizza sauce, homemade cheese pizzas, cereal bars, cottage cheese, white grape juice, carrot and apple juice, baked potatos with cheese, gerber snacks (crunchies, cinnamon grahams), and green beans.  She does not like any vegetable except green beans.  We have tried everything and she refuses them all, except the beans.  I guess she is taking after me.  I refused all vegetables at 9 months and really not much has changed in 29 years!

Last meal in her highchair........because.........

Booster Seat:  Isabelle has graduated from her highchair to a booster seat.  She was constantly trying to get our of her highchair and started disliking being put in there at all.  So we packed it up and got a booster seat.  She seems to really like it and loves having more freedom to move and look around.

Playing Outside:  Isabelle LOVES being outside.  She loves her wagon rides, swings, walking around the yard, crawling through the grass, tapping on the pumpkins, and playing in the tower of her swingset.

Simba was watching her from the screen door while we were playing outside tonight.

Reading and Napping:  Isabelle loves books, she likes turing the pages herself and as previously mentioned loves giving the animals in books kisses.  She really likes touch and feel books or pop-up books.
She is still taking two naps a day ranging anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 1/2 hours each.

Happy 11 month birthday Isabelle Ann! We love you more then words will ever be able to express.  You are our angel and we treasure each and every moment with you.

Zoo Time!

Today my parents took Kevin, Isabelle and I to the Blank Park Zoo!  It was Isabelle's first time at a zoo and it was a great time.  She loved looking at all the animals, particularly the penguins, gibbons, fish, swans, flamingos, and everything at the petting zoo!  Isabelle even went on her first train ride that the zoo has! It was a little chilly during the train ride but she seemed to enjoy it!

Walking into the zoo holding mommy's hand (and Elly of course)

Isabelle had so much fun that she fell asleep about a half hour before we were heading out (and about an hour before her normal nap time!)

Although she was sleeping when we left, she went home with some presents from the gift shop from grandma and grandpa! We had a great time and we will for sure be taking her back next year!

Homecoming Parade

Tonight is our towns high school homecoming football game.  To kick things off there was a homecoming parade put on by the high school this afternoon.  They held the parade in Dallas Center this year as it was in Grimes the year before.  Isabelle and I headed over so she could watch the parade!

I was a little nervous when the marching band started coming by.  Isabelle has never liked loud, sudden noises.  However she didn't mind the loud drums or tubas at all!  She seemed very interested in everything!

All that parade watching sure makes you sleepy! :)
